Another storm, another project

Well, we had another winter storm and although it wasn't the big thing they thought it would be for us, it gave me some time to finish this. This is part of of the weather vain series from Mill Hill. These are so cute and so quick to finish. This will be my last finish for 2009.

Finished before the end of the year.

I worked on this during the blizzard this week. It was close to being done, just had the ribbon work to do. I will probably wait until after Christmas to have it mounted and then bully my hubby into making the frame. This was a class at the Cross Stitch festival in Des Moines, Iowa many years ago. Stoney Creek was the designer. I took the class to learn filet stitching which is the rose in the center.

Fraidy Frog

Fraidy Frog probably was my favorite to do. He is a Just Nan and the pattern is in this year's Just Cross Stitch magazine. I put him in one of Just Nan's WhimZi frames. I had a lot of fun doing all these ornaments this year. This is the last one so, now I am starting my Christmas ornies. I've got four to do and all of them will be given away.

Spooky

This was another Mill Hill kit and it didn't take any time at all to do. I really enjoyed doing the Mill Hill kits this year. They had quite a few and they were all really cute. Also I love how quick and easy they were.

Pumpkin Trio

Here is one of the three that I just finished. This is Pumpkin Trio and it's a Mill Hill kit. It's got a lot of 1/4 stitches and it's done on black. It was a little harder than the other ones but, it came together quick.

Another Halloween Ornie

Here is another Halloween ornie. This was a Just Nan in the Just Cross Stitch Halloween issue for 2008. I framed it with her WhimZi frames for Halloween.

Pulled Thread Class

This is the piece that we worked on in the Marion Scoular pulled thread class that I took last week. It's done white on white and you can see some of the petals that are done and some of the back stitching. It didn't take me long to get to this point so, it shouldn't take long to finish. This is one I will put in my finish pile right away.

More Halloween Ornies

This is another little ornie from the Just Cross Stitch Halloween Issue 2008. This is a little more primitive then I usually stitch but, I thought it was cute. The colors came out really nice.

Loving Halloween

I just finished this little ornie. It has some speciality stitches in it but, it was a very quick project. The ornie came from the Just Cross Stitch Halloween Issue 2008. I also made the little tuck pillow.

Halloween is Just Around The Corner

And I've been stitching like mad to do some ornaments for this bewitching season. This is the first that I've got done. This is Witchy Kitty and it's a Mill Hill kit. This picture doesn't do it justice as the beads are really pretty and very Halloweenie. I just love how they have set this whole ornament off. I got this one done in just a couple of days so it was quick and a lot of fun.

Autumn is here

Well, I've got a beautiful Autumn Biscornu finished. This will be an entry to the Victoria Sampler Contest. I did one side in a medium brown fabric and the other in a golden yellow. I really think it came out nice and will make a nice complimentary piece to the Summer Biscornu that I did earlier this year.

Fat Pat is Done

Well, I am back from a fantastic trip to the needlework retreat in Minnesota. I always feel so energized with my hobby after six days up there. I really got a lot done as well as taking a blackwork class from Tanja Berlin. This is one of the projects that I got a lot done on and then finished it when I got home. This will make a great fall decoration.

Elizabethan Treasures Finished

I am finally getting this posted. I started this probably 7+ years ago and put it up several times. I have been making an effort to get all my WIP's done and I just finished this one. I will be framing it and probably entering it in the state fair next year. Lots of work but, it was well worth it. I am very happy with the way it came out.

English Carpet

I got all of the back ground done in the main part. I have almost got the border done. I should be able to finish the stitching next rotation. Then it's on to the back stitch. Shouldn't be much longer and I will have a finish.

Weekend Project

This is my weekend project. It's Fat Pat by Trail Creek Farm. This is being done on a reddish fabric that is not only hard to stitch on but to take pictures of . The companion picture is Slim Jim and that one is done on a brown fabric. This and the companion have a lot of really cute embellishments and I will be making it into a pillow. Actually it will be sewn onto the top of a pillow. I hope to have this one done by Halloween.

Meet Ozzie

My husband and I went out to our local humane society yesterday and we got this rescue dog. He is a 3 year old Rat Terrier. He is a very sweet dog and has already won a place in my heart. The other dogs are Lacy Ann my 3 year old Min. Schnauzer and Festus a 11 year old mix. I have a two year old Lhasapoo, Cookie who is not in the picture. This is why my stitching took second place for a couple of days.

Fair Day

Herbal Garden

Well, I've put in an extra day so that I could get the flowers done on the bottom. Next time I get to this I will be doing the gate and the third corner urn. I am trying to get this one done by the end of the year, looks like I will make it.

Hearts and Lacis by Stoney Creek

Well, I didn't get as far as I wanted but it is really starting to take shape. I have a border and a lot of pearls to put on before I do the ribbon stitching so, I've got a bit to go before it's done. It will be a very pastel piece with greens, blues and dark pinks.

Done for this round

I just got this round in my rotation done. It took me six days but, I got the filet square done as well as the row above it. It's getting closer to being done. I'll be so glad as this is one that has been around for several years.

Contest project

There is a contest going on where we were given a chart and we were to use our own ideas about fiber and we could change the design a little. I used a hand dyed thread, Caron and I decided that the back was too bare so I did a little work on the back. They will be voting at the end of June. It was a lot of fun to make and the way all the biscornu's look is really amazing.

English Carpet

Well, I've put my time in on this project and I've about finished the blue background in the main part. After I finish this I will be putting in a small border around it and then do some backstitching. This should pop the details quite nicely. Hopefully I'll be done soon.
